Orange County opened the Tangelo Park Community Action Center.

The Orange County government opened the Tangelo Park Community Action Center at 5160 Pueblo Street in Orlando with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Officials said that the nearly 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, the Tangelo Park Community Center will be a neighborhood cornerstone for decades to come. It will house youth mentoring initiatives, job placement and life skills programs and numerous other vital social service resources.

The Center’s amenities will include a computer lab, an indoor basketball court, an outdoor swimming pool, and a multipurpose room with a capacity for over 300.

Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and District 6 Commissioner Michael Scott were featured speakers, and remarks were also provided by Tangelo Park community leaders and residents.

“This is an important milestone for Tangelo Park and a continued investment in the future of the community,” Commissioner Mike Scott posted.

The Tangelo Park Community Action Center is the ninth county-run community center, providing neighborhood-specific programs, resources and services across Orange County. Each year, Orange County’s Community Action Centers provide services to more than 250,000 residents.
